Apple hosted its big ‘Awe Dropping’ press event today . During the event, the Apple iPhone 17 series was announced , consisting of four phones. The Apple iPhone Air is one of them, though without the ’17’ in its name, and we’re here to focus on its specs.
The Apple iPhone Air specs are nothing to scoff at
The iPhone Air is a newcomer iPhone, as it’s replacing the ‘Plus’ model from past years. This phone is extremely thin and light, though its battery capacity does suffer because of it. We’ll talk more about its specs here, but do note that Apple did not release all the information, as per usual.
The Apple iPhone Air is fueled by the Apple A19 Pro processor. That is the company’s new chip, and it’s a 3nm processor. The ‘Pro’ models of the iPhone 17 actually use that very same processor.
Apple also included 12GB of RAM inside this phone, the same as in the vanilla model. In terms of storage, you can choose between 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB flavors. Do note that the storage is not expandable, though.
It has a notably larger display than the vanilla model, and a tiny battery
Apple opted to include a 6.5-inch display here, so a slightly smaller panel than the iPhone 16 Plus had. That is a Super Retina XDR display, and it has a 120Hz refresh rate (1-120Hz). It offers a 2736 x 1260 resolution, and has HDR support. The peak brightness here is 3,000 nits.
What about the battery? The phone includes a 3,149mAh battery, which is bigger than expected, but not big by any means. What about charging? Well, we know that it supports 20W wireless MagSafe charging, but we don’t know the wired charging speed. It’s likely 30W, though. A charger is not included in the box.
Only one camera is included on its back
This smartphone has a single camera on the back, and it is the only phone in the series to do so. It’s a 48-megapixel snapper (1x, 2x zoom options). On the front side, you’ll find an 18-megapixel camera.
There are stereo speakers included here, while the device is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. iOS 26 comes pre-installed here, while Wi-Fi 7 is supported.
The Apple iPhone Air comes in Cloud White, Light Gold, Sky Blue, and Space Black colors. The phone measures 156.2 x 74.7 x 5.64mm, and weighs 165 grams.
