The Apple Watch Ultra has the biggest display out of all of Apple’s smartwatches . However, Apple could increase the display even more. According to MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 could feature an even larger display .

Apple Watch Ultra 3 to have bigger display

For context, the current Apple Watch Ultra 2 has a 1.93-inch display. However, according to the report, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 could pack a larger 1.98-inch display. This is based on the latest iOS 26 beta, which revealed an Apple Watch image with a resolution that does not correspond to any of Apple’s existing models.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 has a resolution of 410×502. However, the image suggests a new resolution of 422×514. This has led to speculation that either the Apple Watch Ultra 3 will sport a larger display, or it could maintain the same display but with thinner bezels. As MacRumors points out, there haven’t been any rumors about an increase in the casing size of the smartwatch.

It is possible that Apple has managed to keep its plans a secret for so long. But given that we are in the digital age, leaks are as common as they come. Apple, however, needs to be careful with how big they make the display. The Apple Watch doesn’t have the best reputation in terms of battery life.

A larger display would only make the battery drain faster. Also, not everyone sees the need to have such a big display. Sure, there are some users with larger wrists that might appreciate a larger display, but is it enough for Apple to bump up the size?

iPhones coming this September

The last time Apple refreshed the Ultra series, it was back in 2023. The company decided to skip a refresh in 2024, which makes 2025 perfect timing. Apple is rumored to host an event this September .

It is when the company will announce its new iPhone 17 series. The lineup is rumored to consist of the base iPhone 17, the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, and the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models. The event will also see Apple refresh its Apple Watch lineup , which will most likely include the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE, and the Apple Watch Ultra 3.
