The Epson Lifestudio Projector series is worthy of one of our Best of CES 2026 Awards . It is noteworthy that these projectors are not exactly new products. However, the integration of Google TV with Gemini AI aims to change everything. The update will fix the long-standing problem that projectors and smart TVs don’t work well together. By replacing traditional Google Assistant with Gemini ‘s conversational AI, Epson is moving away from restrictive voice commands toward a more flexible, natural interface. The addition of a centralized smart home dashboard enhances the role of these projectors as smart home hubs.

An integration that aims to change everything

Epson’s most recent update for the Lifestudio lineup focuses on turning the hardware from a basic display tool into a smart device that works with everything else. The new integration of Google TV with Gemini AI, which is based on MediaTek’s smart projector SoC platform, will make it easier for users to find and manage content. The biggest technical change is that Gemini enables conversations with computers. The AI lets people search for content by using natural queries based on moods or themes instead of rigid keywords. It will be easier than ever to search through the more than 700,000 movies and TV shows available.

The home panel is another great new addition. It really makes the projector a proper hub for your smart home. People can now watch doorbell cameras, thermostats, and other connected devices right from the projection interface. The goal of this integration is to cut down on “app-switching fatigue” by bringing together content from different streaming services into one interface. The system also has a cross-device watchlist, which lets users save content on their mobile device and then watch it right away on the projector.

The rollout will start later this year . The flagship Lifestudio Grand ultra-short-throw projector will be the first to receive it. Epson plans to extend these AI-driven features to other models in the Lifestudio series throughout 2026. While the hardware remains largely the same, the software upgrade is a big step up in terms of functionality.
