TiVo Platform Technologies LLC has announced a bunch of new upgrades and content partnerships for its TiVo OS at the CES 2026 event. The new update introduces enhanced functionality, wider hardware reach, and expanded entertainment options. It is designed to improve how audiences discover and enjoy content, with the focus being on flexibility and scale.
TiVo OS gets new content partnership and improved experience
TiVo OS powers smart televisions from major brands and is reaching millions of households. The platform is now accessible across a complete range of smart TV models, from 2K to 4K, and is expanding into additional consumer electronics categories. The support for set-top boxes, soundbars, and mini LED monitors allows manufacturers to use a consistent interface. This also serves consumers with seamless access across devices.
Further, TiVo has added several new features to help people find and enjoy content more easily. The Partner Picks Carousel shows recommended shows and movies from content providers in a dedicated row. It also maintains enough space for ads. Home Page Hero Video Trailers automatically play short previews to draw attention to featured titles. Moreover, Live TV content is now included in the recommendations. This allows viewers to quickly see sports and special events as they happen.
Improved voice commands, refined recommendations, and expanded streaming services
The voice control is now upgraded to support more accurate search and multiple languages. TiVo is also expanding its entertainment options by adding more streaming services to the platform. Some examples of the recent additions are CrunchyRoll and iHeartRadio. The company says that the new partnership strategy focuses on offering a wider range of high-quality content.
The new approach may allow the tech giant to attract different audiences and encourage long-term engagement across categories like animation, movies, music, radio, and podcasts. However, the main focus of the firm seems to be the Sports category. The platform now includes the official National Basketball Association app. It further gets new free channels dedicated to motorsports, tennis, and extreme sports.
