The entire Samsung Galaxy S25 series is now getting the December 2025 Android security update . Well, the rollout has started in Korea. It will quickly spread to other markets, as that’s how Samsung usually handles updates.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is getting the December 2025 security update
That update could already be on your way by the time you’re reading this. The Samsung Galaxy S25 , Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra are all getting the update. In addition to them, the Galaxy S25 FE also seems to be getting this update .
This update fixes 57 security vulnerabilities, it is stated, and it weighs 578.47MB. Do note that it’s possible that the update in other regions may be a bit smaller or bigger in terms of size, but only barely.
A total of 68 security vulnerabilities have been fixed
6 of those 57 fixes are rated ‘critical’, while the rest of them are marked as ‘high-risk’. Those are fixes from Google’s side of things, Samsung has added 11 of its own fixes for security flaws related to One UI.
This patch addresses a flaw in Dynamic Lockscreen that has the ability to let other apps access its files. A validation bug in Samsung’s radio interface layer has also been fixed, amongst other things.
Even when this update does arrive in your region, do note that it’s rolling out in stages. In other words, some of you will get it sooner than others, so be patient if it’s not available straight away.
It’s not a big update, but it’s an important one
This is not a big update by any means, but it does add more security to the table, as it patches some loopholes in the software. The next big update is coming in January, almost certainly, with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series.
We’re talking about One UI 8.5 here, of course, and the details leaked out the other day. The Galaxy S26 series will get it first, but the Galaxy S25 users likely won’t have to wait for long.
