Samsung’s next major OS update will be One UI 8.5 . This will have Android 16 QPR2 release as a base. Like with every update, there will be some new features on board. Leaks so far hinted at priority notifications, anti-theft protection improvements, automatic call screening, and more. We may see some of these in action with the beta release. A new leak suggests that’s not all. One UI 8.5 beta will reportedly bring new AI features as well.
New AI features coming with One UI 8.5 beta
Folks at SamMobile have got their hands on the One UI 8.5 beta firmware and have posted a video detailing some of the new AI features. For context, Samsung hasn’t released the One UI 8.5 officially, which it will with the Galaxy S26 series early next year. This is an early build of the beta.
Firstly, the report notes that single-take and dual-recording modes in the camera are missing in this particular beta build. Samsung could be improving these modes, and they may debut again on the Galaxy S26 series, or possibly with the public beta build. Either way, Samsung is bringing them back.

Now Nudges and more
Now Nudges is one of the new AI features in One UI 8.5. This is basically a Galaxy AI feature that will reportedly help you get things done quickly by understanding what’s on your screen and suggesting relevant actions. With just one tap, you can jump from a message where someone has told you where they are to a map app that shows details about that location. It can start translation when you’re viewing something in another language. Nudges will also be displayed when using apps like WhatsApp and Facebook.
With Recall important info, Galaxy AI will understand what you’re doing and show the info you need when you need it. If a task requires remembering something from the past. Galaxy AI references previous chats, screenshots, and more to give you the info instantly without searching for it. Galaxy AI will also offer to fill out forms automatically using information you’ve entered in similar places. This can be handy to enter personal information when making travel bookings.
The report notes that while the features are present in the firmware, they are not currently functional. But this might change in future builds. It appears that with One UI 8.5, Samsung is doubling down on AI and some minor UI changes. We’ll know more when One UI 8.5 beta rolls out, which might not be very long.
