Facebook introduced job postings back in 2017, but retired the section less than five years later. If you were really fond of this feature and were missing it, don’t fret, as job listings are making a return in the US on the Meta -owned Facebook. The emphasis is now on local entry-level services and trade work. These are present in a tab in the Marketplace section of the platform.

Besides the Marketplace section, Meta says job listings may also surface in relevant local and career-focused Facebook groups and pages, making them easier to find. Employers can create a job listing through Facebook Marketplace, their Page, or a Group. Jobs are only available for those who are 18 years and above, and must meet Facebook’s guidelines.

As expected, there are some omissions, like no adult services or drugs. Employment opportunities that involve Illegal activity, products, or services are off limits.

The tech giant allows you to filter and sort jobs on the Marketplace by category, distance, and job type. These tools should make it easier to find the job that suits you. Facebook notes that you can connect directly with employers via Messenger to ask questions or schedule interviews. It’ll also highlight the most relevant opportunities based on your browsing history.

Employers can create a job listing via the Facebook Marketplace, your Page, or the Meta Business Suite. It’s offering guidelines for creating a listing through its app on iOS and Android.

As said, Facebook introduced job listings in 2017 in the US and Canada, and later expanded to more regions. However, in 2022, it was again limited to the US and Canada. In 2023, it eventually shut down the program.
