The creators of Fitbit , James Park and Eric Friedman, have announced a new platform , Luffu, a new app for family health. This looks to be a product of Fitbit creators’ bigger ambitions in the health space. The app aims to create “an intelligent family care system.” It essentially serves as a hub for family members to share health data and updates.
Luffu is a family health app from the Fitbit creators
With the Luffu app, you can track the whole family’s details, like health stats, diet, medications, symptoms, lab tests, doctor visits, and more, seamlessly. It allows you to coordinate with family members and caregivers so you don’t miss anything. The makers note that the app proactively watches over your family’s health and safety. It watches for changes, like missed medications, shifting health and activity patterns, and alerts you before they become concerns.
Users can use voice, text, photos, or connect to devices, apps, and medical portals to record data, like health records, medications, meals, and vitals. The Luffu app also integrates with Fitbit, Apple Health, and platforms that store medical records. One can ask Luffu questions about their family’s well-being in plain language. The app generates answers, insights, or custom visualizations that you can adjust, save, or even share.

Eventually expand to hardware products
Like everything coming out these days, there’s AI here too, but Luffu says it feels more human and works quietly in the background. When your personal data is at play, the question of privacy follows. To that, Luffu says it’s designed to be a “ guardian, not surveillance .” Users are always in control of exactly what is shared, with whom. “ Privacy and security are paramount for all family data ,” says the company.
