After rolling out in South Korea, Samsung is now pushing the November 2025 security update for the Galaxy S24 lineup in the US and Europe. Soon, it should expand to other parts of the world. To jog your memory, Samsung released the security update to the Galaxy S24 lineup in Korea last week.
November 2025 security update for Galaxy S24 series reaches the US
Owners of the Galaxy S24 in the US can identify the November 2025 security update with the firmware version ending in CYK2. The update weighs in at about 450MB and you can check for it from Settings > Software update menu > tap Download and install.
Needless to say, installing the new build improves the system security. It reportedly fixes around 34 specific issues for the US users, while Galaxy S24 Europe models get 45 improvements from Google, Samsung, and Samsung Semiconductor.

No sign of One UI 8.5 beta yet
This is the first update for the Galaxy S24 series after the One UI 8.0 update. The next major update from Samsung is going to be the One UI 8.5. The new version is set to debut with the Galaxy S26 series early next year. The Galaxy S25 series should be the first one to get the update, and then it will eventually expand to older models, including the Galaxy S24. The update could use Android Quarterly Platform as a base.
The One UI 8.5 beta program was initially rumored to kick off in November. Obviously, that didn’t happen, as there seems to be a change in plans. There’s no clear rollout timeline yet. But it’s safe to assume the beta program may start close to the Galaxy S26 series launch. This, for all we know, could be in December or January. We’ll be sure to update when that happens.
