The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could end up using a new OLED display technology , it seems. , That tech will rely on AI to help protect your privacy , and it’s not exactly a secret at this point.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is tipped to use new AI privacy display tech
The technology in question is called Flex Magic Pixel, and it’s developed by Samsung Display. This tech is not exactly a secret, as Samsung showcased it at MWC and the K-Display 2025 event this year.
A report from Korea states that the Flex Magic Pixel tech has entered full-scale mass production. That basically means that it’s possible the Galaxy S26 Ultra will end up featuring it. As a reminder, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to arrive in January next year.
This tech uses AI to control individual OLED pixels to adjust viewing angles. Why is that important? Well, for example, if you open an app with sensitive info, like your banking info, the phone can automatically adjust pixels in order to restrict viewing angles. That way, only you will be able to see the info as you’re looking at the device straight on.
This tech is a better solution than buying specialized privacy screen protectors
Yes, this would work similarly to those privacy glass protectors that some of you use. This way, however, your phone would do the heavy lifting, a special glass protector wouldn’t be necessary. On top of that, the viewing angles would be normal unless an app you’re running has sensitive info on it.
Those glass protectors can also affect touch response, image quality, and more. This way, you wouldn’t have to deal with it at all, and you’d be able to choose whichever screen protector you want, or ditch them altogether.
As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will launch alongside the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge next year. Well, at least based on rumors. Samsung is allegedly planning to change the name of the vanilla model by adding the ‘Pro’ to its name. The ‘Edge’ model is looking to replace the ‘+’ variant altogether .
