The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is not even official yet, and the Galaxy S27 Ultra camera details have already surfaced online . The information comes from Ice Universe , a well-known tipster, so it’s not just a wild, unfounded rumor.
First Galaxy S27 Ultra camera details have just surfaced
Based on this info, Samsung could end up using a newer and better main camera. The Galaxy S27 Ultra is tipped to utilize the ISOCELL HP6 camera sensor, which is reportedly a 200-megapixel camera sensor with a 1/1.3-inch size.
As a reminder, the Galaxy S25 Ultra features the ISOCELL HP2 camera, which the Galaxy S26 Ultra will likely use as well. This new camera sensor is also a 200-megapixel 1/1.3-inch sensor, but it will bring newer technologies to the table. We still don’t have the details on those, though.
The company is allegedly planning to upgrade the ultrawide camera on the Galaxy S27 Ultra as well. We’re hoping that the same will happen with the telephoto camera, as the 10/12-megapixel telephoto cameras that the company has been using are very dated at this point.
We’re hoping for upgrades across the board
It would be nice to see a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera upgrade and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera upgrade. Well, if the company ends up sticking with the dual telephoto camera setup.
Samsung is, unfortunately, rumored to remove the S Pen starting with the Galaxy S27 Ultra. That rumor has been around for quite some time, and we don’t know if it’s accurate, but keep that in mind.
The company has not made a significant camera jump with its flagship Galaxy S series for quite some time. We’re hoping that the Galaxy S27 Ultra will represent a more notable jump forward. That way, Samsung could hopefully catch up to the competition from China. It remains to be seen.
We won’t be seeing that phone launch until Q1 2027, though, so… a lot will change in the market by then.
