After opening up the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series earlier this week, Samsung is back to rolling out monthly updates. The company is now pushing the December 2025 security update to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 , though we would have liked to see the One UI 8.5 beta release. But there seems to be some time for that.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are receiving the December 2025 update

Currently, the update is live in the company’s home country, South Korea. But it should gradually expand to other regions over the coming days. The updates reportedly carry firmware versions F966NKSS6AYKE and F766NKSS6AYKE. You can check for the new security release by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

The December 2025 monthly security release apparently fixes 57 security issues present in the previous version of the OS. It’s always a good idea to install these security updates, as they fix vulnerabilities.

Coming back to One UI 8.5 for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 , a few days ago, an official firmware for the former was reportedly leaked. Reportedly, there aren’t many changes specifically for the foldable form factor, except for two changes/additions. When you swipe down, the notification shade aligns left, right, or center, depending on where you initiate the swipe. In the Phone app, you can access the keypad directly from the call log screen.

Everything else is almost identical to the regular One UI 8.5. Key One UI 8.5 highlights include quick-panel customization, a redesigned navigation bar in apps like Phone and Gallery, and a bottom-placed search bar in apps like Settings. One UI 8.5 also brings a redesigned software update screen. The One UI version now features bold and large letters. We’ll be sure to update if and when Samsung brings the One UI 8.5 beta build to its latest foldables.
