Three foldable smartphones from Samsung have been spotted in the IMEI database . Yes, you read it right, three. We are certain that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 are included, while the third one is a bit of a mystery .

The US models of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 & Flip 8 have seemingly surfaced

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 has been spotted under the ‘SM-F976U’ model number. The Galaxy Z Flip 8, on the other hand, appeared under the ‘SM-F776U’ model number.

Considering that these model numbers end with the ‘U’ suffix, chances are we’re looking at the US variants of the two phones. Global variants have the ‘B’ suffix at the end. The listings also mention the ‘Q8’ and ‘B8’ names, which further point to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

What about the third one? The third model has the SM-F971U name, and a market name ‘H8’. Now, this device surfaced a bit earlier than the other two, and it’s rumored to be the Galaxy Z Fold FE.

Samsung is expected to announce a wider book-style foldable this year

We’re not sure if it is, only time will tell. As many of you know, however, Samsung is also expected to announce a wider book-style foldable this year. A foldable that is meant to compete directly with the upcoming iPhone Fold .

So, Samsung is basically planning to announce two book-style foldables in 2026. One will be the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is the continuation of what we’ve been seeing thus far in terms of book-style foldables. A squarish display when unfolded. Tall device when folded, a device that mimics regular phones.

The wider phone, on the other hand, will be notably shorter when folded, but also wider. When unfolded, it’s expected to have a near 4:3 aspect ratio and will be better for consuming wide media content, amongst other things.

Apple’s first foldable is expected to have a similar display aspect ratio when unfolded. So those two devices will go head-to-head.
