Google has officially ushered in the Gemini 3 era, launching its latest suite of artificial intelligence models. This release promises significant upgrades in reasoning and speed. There are also important improvements to how the AI interacts with users, both in simple searches and complex development tasks. The move comes as the search giant races to stay ahead in the intensifying AI competition.
Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai stated that Gemini 3 is “built to grasp depth and nuance .” The AI should now allow users to get desired results with “ less prompting .” Google notes that the new model excels at contextual understanding, meaning it can figure out your intent behind complex requests more effectively than previous models.
Search results on Gemini 3 get a visual overhaul with generative UI
One of the most immediate changes for consumers comes to AI Mode in Google Search with the introduction of Generative UI. Until now, users always received information in a standard text block. Now, Gemini 3 can dynamically reshape its response to best suit the query.
For instance, if you ask for data best summarized in a graph, Gemini 3 will generate a graph. If a complex physics problem requires an explanation, the AI can create an interactive simulation. This allows the AI to tailor its output to exactly the right medium—be it a detailed table, a visualization, or a step-by-step code example—making the information more succinct and easier to grasp. This capability also brings “immersive visual layouts,” resembling a digital magazine for specific topics.
Furthermore, Gemini 3 enhances even the basic search function. It now runs more targeted searches in the background to source the best information for its AI Overviews. Google also emphasized that the new model trades “cliché and flattery for genuine insight,” focusing on providing direct and honest answers.
Agentic coding and development
For developers, Gemini 3 marks a major step forward in creating autonomous AI agents. Google unveiled a new agent platform called “Google Antigravity.” The latter is powered by Gemini 3’s advanced reasoning and tool use capabilities. This platform enables developers to code at a “higher, task-oriented level,” allowing the AI to autonomously plan and execute complex, end-to-end software tasks.
Availability and rollout
Google is rolling out Gemini 3 immediately across its product suite.
Lastly, developers can access Gemini 3 via the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, Vertex AI, and the new Antigravity platform.
