Of course, this naturally takes more time to process. Now, if you find yourself staring at the spinning status indicator for too long, you can simply tap “Answer now” to get an immediate reply.

The most significant change here is how the app handles your request. In previous versions, a “Skip” button would occasionally appear, but it often forced the app to switch to the “Fast” model ( Gemini 3 Flash ) to finish the task. This could sometimes lead to a drop in the quality of the answer.
If you choose “Answer now,” Gemini will stay on the high-end model you chose at first. It skips the extra steps of reasoning to get the main point across more quickly. You will even see a short message that says the app is “Skipping in-depth thinking.” This ensures that you still benefit from the intelligence of the Pro or Thinking models, just without the wait for the full “chain of thought,” as 9to5Google reports.

Google is rolling this out broadly across Android , iOS, and the web for both free and paid users. There is an interesting branding difference in the option between mobile platforms, though. While Android and the web versions have adopted the “Answer now” branding, some iOS users might still see the old “Skip” label.
