Google has just published its annual ‘Year in Search’ lists for 2025 . In other words, the company is letting us know what people searched for most this year, both regionally and globally.
In this article, we’ll focus on the global list and the US one. However, you can see a list for you country with ease, if you’d like to. All you have to do is navigate here , and choose your country from the drop-down menu. Do note that not all countries were available when we last checked, though.
Google just showed us what the world searched most in 2025
When it comes to general global searches for 2025, Gemini was number one, followed by India vs England and Charlie Kirk. The Club World Cup was number 4, while India vs Australia followed. DeepSeek was number 6, and was followed by Asia Cup, Iran, and iPhone 17 searches.
Charlie Kirk was the most searched person, while Charlie Kirk assassination took the first place in the ‘News’ category. Mikey Madison was the most searched amongst actors, while d4vd is number one in the ‘People’ section.
Arc Raiders took the first place in the ‘Games’ section, followed by Battlefield 6. FIFA Club World Cup was the number one in Sports Events, and so on.
Charlie Kirk was at the very top in the US
What about the US ? Well, Charlie Kirk was number one in general searches and under the ‘Passings’ category. KPop Demon Hunters were second in general searches, followed by Labubu, iPhone 17, One Big Beautiful Bi9ll Act, Zohran Mamdani, and DeepSeek.
In terms of news, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act was first, followed by the Government shutdown, the Charlie Kirk assassination, the Tariffs, and the No Kings protest.
Pedro Pascal was the most searched actor, while Zohran Mamdani was the most searched person. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was the most searched game, followed by Battlefield 6, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and ARC Raiders.j
