We already wrote separate Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro previews, and it’s now time to do the same for the Pixel 10 Pro XL. All three of those phones will launch later this year, at the same time. In addition to them, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold will also be coming. So, we’ll get a total of four smartphones. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL are expected to be the most powerful ones, looking at all of their specs.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL is expected to be a larger variant of the Pixel 10 Pro. In other words, Google will likely do the same it did with the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. That’s a good thing, as the only difference between them will be their size, display size, and battery capacity. All the other internals should be identical, pretty much. With that being said, let’s see what you can expect from the Pixel 10 Pro XL.

This article will be regularly updated with new information on the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL (this is a preview article) — both official teasers and credible leaks, rumors, and insider claims — as it becomes available in the run-up to the release of the upcoming Android smartphone. The last update was made on August 5, 2025 .

When will the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL be released?

The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL will become official on August 20 , it has been confirmed. The Pixel 9 series launched in August, while the Pixel 8 series in 2023 launched in October. Google moved its release cycle last year, and it’ll keep things more or less the same this year. One thing is for sure, the company will announce all four phones at the same time, the Google Pixel 10 , Pixel 10 Pro , Pixel 10 Pro XL , and Pixel 10 Pro Fold . The first three phones will also become available in August.

What models are coming?

Four Pixel 10 series devices are coming, but we’re focusing on the Pixel 10 Pro XL here. The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL is coming in a single RAM variant, with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Several storage flavors will be on offer, though. The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL will ship in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The storage will not be expandable, by the way. We’re still not sure whether Google will make a jump from UFS 3.1 storage to UFS 4.0, but we sure hope so.

How much will the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL cost?

What about the price? Google will keep the same price tag as last year . The phone’s base 256GB storage option will cost $1,199, while its 512GB storage variant will set you back $1,319. The most expensive model, a 1TB option, will cost $1,549 in the US.

What will the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL look like?

The design of this phone did leak out. In fact, we’ve exclusively revealed its design back in March when we shared its CAD-based renders . The device also surfaced during an ad photoshoot , well, we’re not sure if it’s the Pixel 10 Pro or 10 Pro XL, as only the size is expected to be different. In any case, we’ve included two galleries below, along with a YouTube video which shows the CAD-based renders from all sides.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL will retain a very similar design to its predecessor, that much is certain. It will once again include flat front and back sides, along with a flat frame all around the device. That frame will have slightly tapered edges, for comfort’s sake. A centered display camera hole will be placed up top, while the bezels around the display will be uniform. We’re hoping that they’ll be thinner than on the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Not that it had thick bezels, but there are flagship phones out there with even thinner bezels, noticeably.

Its physical buttons will sit on the right-hand side, all of them. The power/lock button will sit above the volume up and down keys, however. That’s the way Google likes to do it, even though it’s the only one, basically. On the back, you’ll notice a pill-shaped camera bar which is horizontal, just like on the Pixel 9 Pro XL. The phone will also have three cameras on the back, a main (wide) one, an ultrawide one, and a periscope telephoto camera. The camera bar will protrude on the back, of course.

The Pixel 10 Pro XL will likely be made out of aluminum and glass, just like its predecessor. We’re still not sure, but chances are Google won’t go for stainless steel or titanium for the phone. Aluminum makes sense, as it’s arguably the best choice for weight and cooling ratio. The device will measure roughly 162.7 x 76.6 x 8.5mm, which is almost identical to what the Pixel 9 Pro XL offers. That leads us to believe that Google will also stick with a 6.8-inch display.

What specs will the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL have?

What about the phone’s specs? Well, the Google Tensor G5 processor will fuel the phone. That will be the very first TSMC-made Tensor chip. It will be made on a 3nm process. Up until now, Samsung was the one manufacturing Tensor chips for Google. MediaTek’s modem is rumored for the Tensor G5, by the way. That chip won’t bring a revolution in terms of sheer power, based on rumors, but it will improve the camera prospects of the Pixels, and also offer faster startup performance , amongst other things. It should also be able to offer some added power efficiency.

The Tensor G5 is tipped to adopt a 1+5+2 CPU cluster . It will use one prime performance core, five performance cores, and two efficiency cores. For performance cores, Google opted for the Cortex-A725 cores, allegedly, while two Cortex-A725 CPU cores will be used as efficiency cores. We still don’t know their clock speeds, though.

Regarding its display, we’re expecting a 6.8-inch panel to be used once again. Google could even stick with the same LTPO OLED panel, which offers a resolution of 2992 x 1344 pixels. It will support an adaptive refresh rate (1-120), by the way, and it will be a flat display. The phone’s battery pack will measure 5,200mAh, while the device will support 39W wired, 25W wireless , and reverse wireless charging. Qi2 will be supported , and you won’t need the case in order to take advantage of magnets .

Android 16 will come pre-installed on the device, in case you were wondering. In regard to its cameras, a 50-megapixel main camera is expected. That will likely be the Samsung GNV sensor, which is a 1/1.31-inch sensor. For its ultrawide and telephoto cameras, the Pixel 9 Pro XL will likely use Sony’s IMX858 sensor, that is a 1/2.55-inch sensor, a 48-megapixel one. The selfie camera is tipped to get a boost from a 42-megapixel one to a 48-megapixel one. Google is tipped to add telemacro photography to the phone, and gimbal-level stabilization .

The device will launch in four colors : Jade, Moonstone, Obsidian, and Porcelain. Storage options will vary from one color to the next. The phone will also be getting improved audio, thanks to improvements to its speakers . Do note that an improved ultrasonic fingerprint scanner will also be a part of the package.

Should you wait to buy the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL?

It’s still too early to say whether the Pixel 10 Pro XL will be worth it. We don’t have the full picture yet, not even close. That goes for both its specs and price tag, actually. The Tensor G5 could be a considerable boost, and something that will attract quite a few people. The rest of the doens’t seem to be a huge bump, though, at least based on the information that we have at the moment.

While the Google Pixel 10 lineup looks to be almost identical to the Pixel 9 lineup from last year, we’re seeing that there are a lot of other upgrades within the hardware that make for a much bigger upgrade this year. Another one of those upgrades is going to be the fingerprint sensor.

Last year, Google finally added an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor (as did OnePlus in the OnePlus 13 this year). This is a pretty big upgrade over the optical sensor found in earlier models, because it’s more secure, faster, and works better when your fingers are wet. Now, we can confirm that Google is indeed upgrading that ultrasonic fingerprint sensor again this year. It’s going to be even faster than before, which is saying quite a bit, to be honest.

Of course, Google will still retain facial recognition, which is actually more secure than other Android phones, but not quite as secure as what Apple has with Face ID. Since the Pixel 8, Google’s facial recognition has supported Class 3 authentication, which is secure enough for banking apps to use. And that will continue through the Pixel 10 series.

Google’s adding Qi2 and new, bright colors

As we’ve already exclusively reported, Google is also adding Qi2 support to the Pixel 10 this year. However, it’s going to be Qi2-ready, meaning that you’ll need a case to actually take full advantage of the Qi2 wireless charging standard. This is similar to what OnePlus and Samsung have done this year with their flagship phones. And even what Apple has sort of done with the iPhone 16e (though it doesn’t actually do Qi2 as it doesn’t support the faster charging rate).

Additionally, Google is also adding new colors this year, some pretty bright ones too. Unfortunately, the “Pro” models still get the darker, and more boring colors. Google Pixel 10 colors include Ultra Blue, Limoncello, Iris, and Midnight. While Google Pixel 10 Pro colors include Sterling Gray, Light Porcelain, Midnight, and Smoky Green. Finally, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold colors include Sterling Gray and Smoky Green.

The Google Pixel 10 release date is slated for August 28, with the announcement and pre-orders opening on August 20.
