Much like the Google Pixel 9 series, the new Google Pixel 10 series of smartphones also supports satellite connectivity. Much like last year, Google again partnered up with Skylo in order to make that happen.

The Google Pixel 10 and Pixel Watch 4 get satellite features thanks to Skylo partnership

Google and Skylo have expanded their partnership to the Pixel 10 , Pixel 10 Pro , Pixel 10 Pro XL , and Pixel 10 Pro Fold handsets. The Pixel Watch 4 is also thrown into the mix, as the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chip that fuels it supports standalone emergency messaging. The best of all, you don’t need a phone or cellular plan for it.

“This launch isn’t just a new feature — it redefines what’s possible with satellite connectivity in everyday devices, including the one that’s in your pocket or on your wrist,” said Parthsarathi Trivedi, the CEO and co-founder of Skylo Technologies.

Skylo, as a reminder, was recognized as the industry’s Best Non-Terrestrial Network provider at MWC 2025 in Barcelona. That actually happened for the second year in a row.

The Pixel Watch 4 is the first device to integrated NB-NTN satellite connectivity

Now, as far as the Pixel Watch 4 is concerned, it just became the world’s first device to integrate NB-NTN satellite connectivity. NB-NTN support means that the watch gets direct, standalone access to Skylo’s satellite network. It is “giving users the ability to connect to emergency services and share their location straight from their wrist, even without a phone.”

“By integrating Skylo’s satellite service with our Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 platforms, we’re empowering device makers to deliver life-saving connectivity anywhere — without needing a phone, tower, or terrestrial signal,” said John Kehrli, Senior Director, Product Management at Qualcomm Technologies.

Skylo’s satellite capabilities across the Pixel lineup include the following: Satellite SOS, Location Sharing via Satellite, and Satellite Messaging. Satellite SOS means that you get a direct connection to emergency services in the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. The Pixel Watch 4 is currently limited to the US, but that will change soon.

Thanks to Location Sharing via Satellite, you can send your live location from remote areas using Google Maps or Find Hub. Satellite Messaging is carrier-dependent, however, it’s included in some cellular plans.
