The Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 have just received a surprising feature , borrowed from Apple. These earbuds can now deliver battery percentage for individual components , while also sharing that info with any Pixel device that was connected to them.
The Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 borrowed one of Apple’s best features
This does come as a surprise update, as nobody expected it. Last week, the earbuds received Adaptive Audio, Loud Noise Protection , and head gestures for calls and texts. Those were quite significant updates on their own. This new one is a welcome addition, however. It’s part of the same update, by the way, but it didn’t come to light until now.
If you’d like to get the new feature, you’ll need ot have the Pixel Buds Pro 2 updated to the latest firmware. That version comes as 4.467. Following that, you’ll need to activate the Pixel Battery widget on your Pixel phone. Once you do that, you should be able to see the battery life for all separate components of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 … as shown below.
You’ll always know the battery level of both the case and the earbuds themselves
Thanks to this, you’ll always know the change level of the case and each of the two earbuds. Needless to say, this is very useful information to have on your phone. You won’t have to guess how much juice is left in each earbud.
If you use multiple Pixel phones, and these earbuds were connected to all of them before, you’ll be able to see this info on all of them. That makes the feature that much more useful, as they don’t need to be continuously connected in order for that information to be available.
The Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 are getting better and better. This latest update was a gold mine, it would seem.
