If you’re a content creator, a journalist, a researcher, or someone who works in marketing, Google Trends is an incredibly invaluable tool. It shows users topics and keywords that are trending globally, or you can filter it by region. This makes it easier to plan content and marketing strategies. So, it’s really no surprise that Google is taking things to the next level by infusing Gemini into Google Trends .

According to Google, they have decided to reimagine the Trends Explore by integrating Gemini into it. For the most part, the new Trends Explore page functions the same. It has an updated and more modern look, but its core functionality is there. The main highlight will have to be Gemini integration.

This comes in the form of a new side panel . This new side panel will identify and compare relevant trends based on your area of interest. However, it also features a list of suggested Gemini prompts. This means that if you’re interested in a particular topic, you can use Gemini within the page to find out more information.

Prior to this, users could always use Gemini or whatever AI model they want to explore more on a topic. However, this process required users to open a separate tab. It also lacks context, meaning that you might have to explain what you need to know in relation to another topic. Now with Gemini integration, it lets users skip several steps.

Gemini, everywhere

Like we said, this update doesn’t come as a surprise. We’ve seen Google integrate Gemini across its various products and services. The most obvious would be search, where users can find AI Overviews at the top of the page, or they can launch AI Mode to dive deeper into a topic.

We’ve also seen Google push Gemini into services like Gmail, Workspace, and Translate . More recently, Google announced what they’re calling Personal Intelligence for Gemini . This basically leverages a bunch of its products and services to create a version of Gemini that’s more tailored to you personally and your needs.

Google says the updated Trends Explore page is rolling out for desktop users as we speak. If you don’t see it yet, don’t worry. Google says that it should reach all users eventually.
