Google has just announced three new Nest models alongside the new Google Home Speaker that won’t be released until the Spring. We actually exclusively reported on these new Nest products back in September .

The common denominator here with all of the new Nest products is that they now have 2K video resolution and support for Gemini. In fact, these were all made specifically for Gemini. So here’s the new product lineup:

  • Nest Cam Indoor 2K – $99
  • Nest Cam Outdoor 2K – $149
  • Nest Doorbell 2K Wired – $179

Similar to the speakers, all of the Nest cameras, dating back to 2015, will get Gemini support with Gemini for Home.

The new cameras here do sport the same design as their predecessors, though Google has added a few new bold colors. Like the Berry color, which is a bright red, and then Hazel. These do match up with the new Google Home Speaker that will be released in the Spring.

These cameras do have 2K HDR video, and also have a taller and wider field-of-view, so it’ll get more in the frame. This is thanks to a new sensor with a wider aperture lens that allows for full-color low-light video. And they’ve been reviewed by DXOMark, and are ranked #1 in their respective categories.

Additional Nest Camera features

Google also says that these new Nest cameras are able to interpret and understand what is happening in and around your home. So instead of just alerting you, instead of saying “an animal detected in your living room,” it can be more descriptive and say “dog jumps out of playpen,” so you can see that they did indeed escape.
