Following the debut of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, several brands are rushing to launch their flagships with it. HONOR’s next flagship duo, the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro, are tipped to launch with the Snapdragon’s flagship SoC in China on October 15th. But ahead of the launch, some sources have leaked full specifications of the HONOR Magic 8 series.
HONOR Magic 8 leaked specifications suggest a 7000mAh battery and a 200MP periscope lens
Starting with the specifications of the vanilla HONOR Magic 8, it is said to carry a 6.78-inch flat OLED screen with 1.5K pixel resolution. What makes it stand out is the rumoured 7,000mAh battery capacity . This battery capacity could be one of the largest in the class. It will support 90W fast wired charging. However, there won’t be any wireless charging support.
In terms of optics, it will have a 50MP wide-angle lens, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 200MP periscope zoom lens. It will also include a red maple multispectral camera , which would be used to improve color accuracy, especially in low-light scenarios. For reference, the OPPO Find X9 series is also adopting the new multispectral camera. Anyway, it will have a 50MP front selfie snapper.
The device will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and is expected to land in black, white, light blue, and gold color variants.
HONOR Magic 8 Pro gets a micro quad curved display and wireless charging
The Magic 8 Pro is said to pack a larger 6.71-inch micro-quad curved OLED display, also at 1.5K pixel resolution. It will feature a slightly larger 7,200mAh battery, along with super-fast 120W wired charging and 80W wireless charging support. And of course, it would be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 .
The camera setup on the Pro model is nearly identical to the standard version. However, there may be slight differences in the sensors. It features the same 50MP wide-angle, 50MP ultra-wide, and 50MP periscope telephoto lenses, along with the red maple multi-spectral lens. The selfie shooter is also similar to the vanilla model. One additional thing we know about the Pro model is that it will weigh approximately 222 grams.
