After multiple leaks and rumors, HONOR has finally launched its lightest flagship smartphone, the Magic8 Pro Air , in China. The announcement coincides with the unveiling of the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design in China yesterday. Speaking of the HONOR Magic8 Pro Air, the device weighs 155 grams and is 6.1 mm thick, backing the company’s “its lightest flagship” claims.

The slim member of the HONOR Magic8 Pro series comes with a 6.32-inch OLED display, with mere 1.08 mm narrow bezels on all four sides. The display boasts of up to 6,000 nits HDR peak brightness, 10 HONOR Oasis eye protection features, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. If you like a compact form factor without compromise on performance and specs, this might be just for you.

The rear body of the Magic8 Pro Air features a metallic satin style as a result of a 7-coat, 7-bake light-sensing overlay coating process used for luxury cars. Durability is another plus point of this smartphone. HONOR says that the smartphone uses a unibody aerospace-grade aluminum frame with a strength of 530 MPa. Additionally, it comes with IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance ratings.

Under the hood, the HONOR Magic8 Pro Air packs the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 3nm chipset , paired with the Arm Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 GPU for exceptional performance. The smartphone also sports a triple rear camera setup, featuring a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.3-inch ultra-large sensor and optical stabilization (CIPA 5.0). Additionally, there’s a 50MP wide-angle camera that comes with a 112-degree field of view and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3.2x optical zoom.

HONOR also claims that the device comes with the first-ever AI-assisted flash system on Android. It is designed with a 5-array structure to adjust output across different zoom levels, ranging from 1x to 6.4x. Not to forget, the device boots Android 16-based HONOR Magic UI 10 out of the box.

Big battery for a slim form factor

Despite boasting a slim form factor, the HONOR Magic8 Pro Air comes with a 5,500mAh battery . The device supports 80W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The company has specifically noted the 917Wh/L energy density; however, the real-world results will depend on usage.

HONOR has launched four different variants of the Magic8 Pro Air. The base variant, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, starts at 4,999 yuan (~$717). HONOR is charging 5,299 yuan (~$760) for another model with a similar RAM option and bumped-up 512GB storage. Additionally, the 16GB/512GB configuration is available for 5,599 yuan (~$803).

Meanwhile, the beefiest model featuring 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage will set you back by 5,999 yuan (~$860).
