HONOR has launched the new Magic8 RSR Porsche Design in China. This joins the existing models, including the Magic8 and Magic8 Pro . Like the previous RSR Porsche Design models, this one also features a distinctive design that draws inspiration from supercars. The Magic8 RSR Porsche Design gets its power from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and a large 7,200mAh battery.

The HONOR Magic8 RSR Porsche Design uses an ultrafine crystal nano ceramin back cover . This, as per the brand, offers a Mohs hardness rating of 8.5. It gets an aluminum alloy metal+ metal frame. The company has apparently designed the phone with microcrystalline nano-ceramic, giving it the feel of a Porsche 911 sports car’s head. The Magic8 RSR Porsche Design is reportedly 10% lighter than the predecessor.
The HONOR phone sports a 6.71-inch quad-curved LTPO AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak HDR brightness of 6,000 nits. The display also offers Dolby Vision and 4,320Hz high-frequency dimming. It offers a Giant Rhino Glass display protection.
Like the Honor Magic8 Pro , the HONOR Magic8 RSR Porsche Design also features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with an Adreno GPU for enhanced graphics performance. You get 16GB/24GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB/1TB UFS 4.0 storage options. The phone packs a 7,200mAh battery with 120W wired and 80W wireless fast charging support. It runs on Android 16-based Magic UI 10.0 out of the box. Users will also get some AI features to enhance the software experience.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens
The HONOR Magic8 RSR Porsche Design features a 50MP 1/1.3-inch main sensor with f/1.6 aperture and OIS. There’s a 50MP ultrawide lens that also supports macro photography and a 200MP 1/1.4-inch periscope telephoto lens with f/2.6 aperture, OIS, and 3.7x optical zoom. The phone offers a 50MP selfie shooter and a 3D depth camera for Face unlock.
The phone gets the first-ever CIPA 6.5 rating for stabilization, making sure the images remain sharp. There’s also an AiMAGE color engine, which makes sure the device captures vibrant images with rich colors and brighter details. The company is also offering a Professional Camera Kit, with a 200mm telephoto teleconverter.
Rest, the HONOR Magic8 RSR Porsche Design gets an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, infrared sensor, and an IP68/IP69/IP69K rating for water and dust resistance. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC. There’s also a self-developed RF enhancement chip C1+, a self-developed energy efficiency enhancement chip E2, and second-gen HONOR satellite communication.
HONOR Magic8 RSR Porsche Design: Price and availability
The HONOR Magic8 RSR Porsche Design has a price tag of CNY 7,999 (~$1,148) in China for the 16GB + 512GB model. The 24GB/1TB version costs CNY 8,999 (~$1,292). It’ll be available in Moonstone and Slate Gray colors. The phone is now up for pre-sale and will go on sale on January 23rd.
