Remember when we used to get excited at seeing a phone packing a 6,000mAh battery? Well, HONOR’s about to put just about everyone in the smartphone market to shame. The company is launching its new HONOR Win smartphone at the end of the week, and thanks to the folks at GSMArena , they have managed to get some hands-on time with the phone, giving us an idea of what it looks like and what we can expect.

HONOR Win hands-on

For those wondering why we’re so excited about the HONOR Win, it is because it is packing a massive 10,000mAh battery under the hood . This is extremely rare, and also quite a fast development. It was just a few months ago we started seeing 7,000-8,000mAh battery phones hit the market. However, HONOR is wasting no time in setting a new standard.

Now, based on the brief hands-on review of the HONOR Win by GSMArena, one of the things they pointed out was how you couldn’t tell that there is a 10,000mAh battery under the hood. You would think a battery of that capacity would be quite huge. But based on their report, it doesn’t seem to be heavier or bulkier compared to other phones. The report reveals that this is because this is a battery that uses HONOR’s proprietary silicon-carbon anode technology.

As for the rest of the phone’s design, it has a similar control layout as the HONOR Magic8 Pro smartphone . The back of the phone also reveals a triple camera setup on the back along with the HONOR Ultra Fan. It is possible that HONOR is positioning this phone as a gaming device, so the large battery and external fan makes sense.

What else can we expect?

While the HONOR Magic8 Pro is the company’s current flagship, this doesn’t mean the HONOR Win is lacking in specs. It’s not just a phone with a massive battery . According to the reports, we can expect to find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset under the hood as well.

It is also expected to come with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. As for the cameras, like we said, it’s going to be a triple camera setup but we don’t have the exact specs yet. HONOR will be officially announcing the phone on December 26, so we should have all the details then regarding specs, pricing, and availability.
