HP recently held its Fall 2025 event, and one of the products it showed off was the all-new HP Series 5 Pro 14-Inch Portable Monitor. This might look like just any other portable monitor out there, but on the contrary, it seems to have at least one trick up its sleeve to set itself apart from the competition.

It also has several useful features, so it’s likely to end up a favorite for those who want a multi-monitor setup in a more convenient package. Since this is a 14-inch display and it’s a portable monitor, it looks and likely feels more like a tablet than a monitor, and that’s part of the appeal. You can take it with you and set it up just as you would if you were at home. That is apparently not what makes this a special portable monitor, though. It’s mainly the display tech.

HP’s Series 5 Pro 14-inch portable monitor is the first commercial portable monitor with a Neo:LED display

The Neo:LED display is HP’s highlight for this monitor, and there’s a good reason why. This is reportedly the world’s first commercial portable monitor to offer this kind of display panel technology . Neo:LED panels are developed by LG and rated for 100% Adobe RGB and Display P3 color accuracy. That means these displays will deliver lush and vibrant colors on-screen, which is what you can probably expect from this portable monitor.

As XDA notes, this kind of tech is usually reserved for desktop monitors and laptop displays. It’s not typically what you’d see in a portable monitor. That may be changing now, however, with HP launching the Series 5 Pro 14-inch . The monitor has a brightness of 400 nits and a Contrast Ratio of 2,000:1. It also has WQXGA resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a 75Hz refresh rate. So it’s perfect for normal daily tasks, or even just browsing or watching video content. Likely not the best option for gaming, though, if you wanted it for that in the first place. HP hasn’t announced pricing or official regional availability, but it does confirm that it should be available in December 2025 .
