Hypershell returned to CES last week, after launching its first consumer product at the show last year. It was a big week for Hypershell, which took home a number of awards, including AndroidHeadlines’ Best of CES 2026. Hypershell also used CES as the perfect training ground for the X Ultra. Allowing media and attendees to use a unit throughout the week in Las Vegas. The Hypershell X Ultra helped CES attendees with the physical toll of trekking through miles and miles of convention space in Las Vegas, between the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Venetian Expo, and various other hotels on The Strip.
At its booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Hypershell allowed attendees to take the X Ultra for a spin through its course. This included a small set of stairs, allowing attendees to get a first-hand look at how the X Ultra can handle the terrain and help with mobility.
Hypershell is pushing for industry accountability. The company partnered with Bobby Marinov of the Exoskeleton Report and Matthew Marino of ASTM F48 to publish a whitepaper on consumer exoskeleton standards . The document includes independent, third-party testing results for the Hypershell X Ultra and makes the case for why the industry needs standardized benchmarks. Hypershell is demonstrating this tested tech at CES.
During CES, SGS awarded Hypershell with the SGS Premium Performance Mark certification for the X Series. This was first awarded at IFA in Berlin last September, and Hypershell says that this “re-issuance on the CES stage reinforces Hypershell’s position as the superior quality benchmark for consumer-grade exoskeletons in the North American market.”

Hypershell has been around since 2021 and has made exoskeletons much more accessible in its short time
Hypershell has come a long way since its inception in 2021. It has brought exoskeletons to the masses, with options as low as $999. Helping those with mobility issues around the world. To date, across its four SKUs, Hypershell has sold over 20,000 units. That is mighty impressive, considering Hypershell started on Kickstarter in 2023 and launched its first product at CES 2025. In fact, Hypershell told us at CES that they sold out during Black Friday. Showing just how in-demand Hypershell’s exoskeletons are.
The company stresses that it is not a medical device, but it has had considerable success with individuals experiencing certain mobility issues, including those resulting from injuries or those who are no longer as mobile as they once were.
In fact, someone ran a marathon with Hypershell’s earlier product, X Carbon, and was able to swap out the battery mid-stride. Which shows just how easy it is to swap a new battery into any of Hypershell’s exoskeletons if you’re wearing it for a long day of walking a show floor like CES.
