Every year with the new iPhone, we see people saying “it’s the same”, which is almost never true. While it might look the same, there are quite a few changes with the new phone. And this doesn’t just apply to the iPhone either, but the Galaxy S, and Pixel as well.

The iPhone 17 Pro models do have a bigger design change this year, bringing in the “Plateau” for the camera bump, and there are quite a few other changes too, including the unibody aluminum design. And that seems to be enough changes to make the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max very popular during the pre-order phase.

Pre-orders opened on Friday, and now Bank of America analysts are claiming that this is the longest shipment delay Apple has seen since the iPhone 11.

Now this isn’t quite the same as saying demand is better than it has been since the iPhone 11, as we don’t know how many iPhones Apple has ready for the month or two of sales. However, we will find out next week how many Apple products were sold in the opening weekend. To put some context behind this, the iPhone 16 sold 37 million units in the first weekend it was available, which includes pre-orders as well as units that were bought from walk-ins.

Currently, the orange models are all backordered until September 30, at the earliest. But the Deep Blue and Silver you can still pick up on launch day, depending on your configuration.
