Next week, Apple will officially unveil its brand new iPhone 17 lineup . We’ve already seen various leaks of the upcoming phone, but thanks to a new video shared on Weibo , we got a quick hands-on look at the iPhone 17 Pro Max .
iPhone 17 Pro Max surfaces in hands-on video
The video shows what appears to be one of the factories responsible for the production of the phone. It’s actually quite rare that we get to see videos coming straight from the factory, so whoever took this iPhone 17 Pro Max hands-on video could find themselves in hot water.
However, there is always a chance that the phones in the video could be dummy units, but we won’t know for sure. It does show us what we can expect from the phone, and yes, it looks huge, as expected of the Pro Max model. Also, the video shows several color options for the phone – black, silver, gray, and even a purple-ish color (which could be dark blue). The space below the camera module also appears to have a different tone compared to the rest of the body.
The video quality isn’t exactly the best, so we’re not sure how it will look like in real life. But either way, we’ll have more details next week .
What’s new?
Unlike the base iPhone 17, the Pro and Pro Max models will see the biggest design change. The front of the phone looks similar to its predecessors. However, the back portion where the camera module lies will see the hugest change.
In the past, Apple typically kept its camera modules on an island at the corner of the phone. However, with the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, Apple is extending the island. It now stretches across the back, similar to Google’s Pixel phones. The camera cluster will be maintained in the same place, but the camera module is now bigger.
As a result, Apple will also shift the placement of its logo down by a bit. It is also rumored that the company had to rearrange the internal magnets to account for the new larger camera module.
