Apple has officially introduced the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The company has the ambitious goal of setting a new standard for performance and professional-grade features in the smartphone industry. This latest generation of flagship devices features a comprehensive redesign and significant upgrades. Below you’ll find the key tech specs and features of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max

The new models are built with a striking aluminum unibody design. Apple used a lightweight aerospace-grade 7000-series alloy. This design also creates a new internal architecture with a plateau on the back to provide additional space for internal components. Also, for the first time, Apple’s Ceramic Shield 2 protects both the front and back of the phone.

The display itself is a Super Retina XDR screen, available in 6.3-inch (Pro) and 6.9-inch (Pro Max) sizes. They now feature a new anti-reflective coating to reduce glare, just like the latest Galaxy S Ultra. The iPhone 17 Pro series boasts a peak outdoor brightness of 3000 nits with 2x better outdoor contrast. The displays also feature ProMotion up to 120Hz for a smoother experience.

At the heart of these devices is the new Apple A19 Pro 3nm chipset. With a 6-core CPU and a 6-core GPU, Apple claims it’s the fastest in any smartphone. To enable sustained high performance, the firm has introduced a vapor cooling chamber—a first for the iPhone—laser-welded into the aluminum chassis to efficiently dissipate heat. This, combined with the efficiency of the A19 Pro and the new iOS 26, results in what Apple claims is the best-ever battery life in an iPhone. The new models can also charge 50% in just 20 minutes with an optional 40W USB-C power adapter.

Camera features: the real deal

The camera system sees a major leap forward. Both models equip three 48MP “Fusion” cameras on the rear, covering main, widescreen, and telephoto. The new telephoto camera uses a tetraprism design with a 56% larger sensor to deliver 4x optical zoom and an impressive 8x “Fusion Zoom” with “optical quality.” The cameras also offer a range of focal lengths, including 13mm and 24mm. On the front, an 18MP Center Stage camera offers a wider field of view and new features for group photos and videos. The list includes the ability to record on both the front and rear cameras simultaneously with Dual Capture.

For serious filmmakers, the new iPhones pack features like ProRes RAW, genlock for multi-camera synchronization, Dolby Vision HDR, and ACES support. These advanced tools make the new iPhones even more appealing for professionals.

In terms of connectivity, the iPhone 17 Pro lineup includes the new N1 wireless chip. This platform enables support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 while also improving the performance of features like AirDrop. The base storage has been doubled to 256GB on all Pro models. The iPhone 17 Pro Max stands out for being available with up to 2TB storage.
