We know that later this year, Apple will finally take the wraps off its latest iPhone 18 series. Now, thanks to a render video by Jon Prosser at FrontPageTech, we might have our first glimpse at the design of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro.
iPhone 18 Pro design revealed in video
In the video, Prosser shares the design of the iPhone 18 Pro series. For the most part, it looks very much like its predecessor, the iPhone 17 Pro. There is some kind of new burgundy color finish, which we’re not sure if it will be one of the official colors, or if Prosser is just having some fun here.
Like we said, the phone’s design is very reminiscent of the iPhone 17 Pro. It features a camera island that stretches across the back of the phone. However, the main difference is on the front of the page. According to the rumors, Apple has figured out a way to integrate Face ID under the display .
So instead of using Dynamic Island to house the front-facing components, Apple has shifted to the use of a hole-punch camera. This would be a first for Apple, but definitely not a first amongst Android phones. Prosser notes that Apple isn’t ditching Dynamic Island, at least not yet. He says that Dynamic Island has somehow become something of a signature feature of the iPhone. This is why Apple isn’t ready to drop it yet. Instead, it will be moved to the side, no longer occupying the middle of the screen.
Also, as expected, the iPhone 18 Pro series will use the A20 chipset . This is Apple’s first 2nm chipset built by TSMC. We expect it will go up against other 2nm chipsets this year, including the Exynos 2600 from Samsung . It is also rumored that Apple will introduce the C2 modem to replace Qualcomm’s modem .
The cheapest iPhone you can buy
That being said, Prosser notes in his video that the iPhone 18 Pro could possibly be the cheapest Apple iPhone you can buy this year. This is because if you recall, the rumors claim Apple might skip the base iPhone 18 model this year. Instead, Apple is changing up its launch strategy .
Instead of launching its entire lineup at once, Apple might split the base model from the Pro models. This means that Apple will introduce the Pro models around September this year, followed by the base iPhone 18 models in the early part of 2027. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you think of the design of the iPhone 18 Pro?
