Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will become global in 2026 . The company announced as much on its official social media channels after the phone’s launch in China .

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will go global in early 2026

The company did not say when exactly the phone will launch. However, we do expect that to happen in either January or February. If we had to guess, we’d say it will become official at MWC 2026 in February.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra arrived in February this year, its initial launch was in February. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra arrived in December, so we do expect to see a global version of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra a bit sooner. We’re almost positive it will be January or February.

The ‘Leica Edition’ comes with a mechanical zoom ring around the camera

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is actually a truly compelling smartphone. That especially goes for its cameras, as this is a camera-centric phone, as expected. That especially goes for the ‘Leica Edition’ version of the device.

That model comes with a mechanical zoom ring around the camera, which makes this phone feel more like a camera than any other. It also has vegan leather on a part of its backplate. We’re hoping that this model will arrive to global markets as well, along with the regular Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

It has truly powerful specs

Other than those two differences, the phones are basically the same. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, the most powerful Qualcomm-branded chip out there.

It has a massive 6,800mAh battery and supports 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. A 50-megapixel main camera (1-inch sensor) is used, along with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (1/1.4-inch sensor size, f/2.4-3.0, multi-directional PDAF). The third camera is a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit (1/2.76-inch sensor size, 115-degree FoV).

It also includes a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display, up to 16GB of RAM, powerful stereo speakers, Android 16 with HyperOS 3, and more.
