This year’s CES 2026 is showcasing remarkable advancements in display technologies . As one of the big names in the segment, LG couldn’t miss the opportunity to be present. This year’s screen demos are showing a particular focus on higher brightness levels and more flexible form factors. Now, LG Display is presenting its latest OLED developments across two separate exhibits in Las Vegas. The new developments focus on how the technology can adapt to different environments, from the bright glare of a living room to the complex interiors of modern vehicles.

From 4,500 nits to 720Hz: LG Display unveils the future of its OLED tech

A central part of the showcase involves a new hardware structure called Primary RGB Tandem 2.0. This technology stacks three primary colors in independent layers to increase light efficiency. The result is a television panel capable of reaching 4,500 nits of peak brightness. To make this power usable in real-world settings, the company integrated a coating that reduces light reflection to 0.3%. This combination addresses a long-standing issue for OLED users: maintaining deep contrast and visibility even in light-filled rooms.

For people interested in high-speed hardware, refresh rates become the main focus. The company is making the first OLED display that can reach 720Hz. The speed of this 27-inch screen is much faster than what most people need, but it aims at professional gamers, where every millisecond of motion clarity is important. A 39-inch ultra-wide 5K2K panel is also available for people who want more screen space and high resolution for work or immersive activities.

Slidable OLED displays that can cover your car dashboard

The automotive part of the event shows how screens are becoming the main way to interact with newer cars. The “Pillar-to-Pillar” display, which is 51 inches wide, is a step toward seamless interior design because it covers the entire dashboard with a single piece of glass. This setup creates separate zones where the driver can see navigation information and the passenger can use a different infotainment area without bothering the driver.

Last, but not least, the company ‘s showcase also features a Slidable OLED concept. This form factor is designed to hide inside the front dashboard. This flexible panel can remain tucked away when not needed, keeping the car interior minimal. It expands into a 33-inch display only when the vehicle is parked or operating in an autonomous mode, offering a larger surface for entertainment or detailed work.
