Following a successful crowdfunding debut that saw nearly $10 million in support, LiberNovo is expanding its ergonomic ecosystem. At CES 2026 , the company shifted focus from just the chair itself to a complete seating system. LiberNovo’s Omni chair is getting upgrades in th form of new materials, a specialized footrest, and cooling technology designed for those who spend the majority of their day at a desk.

LiberNovo upgrades Its Omni bionic spine chair

The core of the system remains the LiberNovo Omni, a chair that attempts to solve the problem of static sitting. Most ergonomic chairs require the user to adjust to the furniture, but the Omni uses a “bionic” backrest with 16 joints and eight panels. This design mimics the human spine to follow the user’s movement in real time.

The most recent update to the chair includes a change in the materials. The new version is made of a mix of linen, short-pile velvet, and wool instead of regular mesh or synthetic leather. The goal of this mix is to make the texture more “skin-friendly,” so it feels more like home furniture than office equipment. To go along with this, there’s a new color called “Moss Green” additional to the gray and black options that are already available.

Temperature and circulation

One of the most common complaints for long-term sitting is heat buildup. To address this, LiberNovo introduced a Cooling Cushion. Instead of relying on fans or electronic cooling, it uses high-thermal-conductive materials to absorb and dissipate body heat physically. It is a simple but practical solution for professionals or gamers who find themselves getting uncomfortable during long sessions.

Additionally, the new StepSync footrest focuses on lower-body health. It is crafted to create a “zero-gravity” alignment when paired with the chair. The design allows you to lift the legs to improve circulation and reduce ankle fatigue. For those who utilize the chair’s “Spine Flow” mode—a deep 160-degree recline—the footrest becomes essential for a full-body reset at the end of a workday.

The system offers up to four specific modes of use. While “Deep Focus” keeps the user upright at 105 degrees for video calls or intense tasks, the chair can shift back to 135 degrees for casual gaming or 160 degrees for stretching. It also includes integrated massage technology, which is a rare addition to chairs that maintain a slim, ergonomic profile.

By treating the chair, footrest, and cushion as a single unit, the goal is to reduce the physical toll of sedentary work. While the technology inside is complex, the user experience is meant to be intuitive. Adjusting as you shift, cooling as you sit, and supporting your legs as you recline shouldn’t be complex tasks.

Pricing and availability

LiberNovo has structured the pricing based on the finish and region. The new Moss Green edition is currently available for $803 (US) / €975 (EU). For those preferring the classic Midnight Black or Space Grey with the updated materials, the price is $929 (US) / €1,134 (EU) / £985 (UK).
