Wearables have become a broad segment of smart technology that, at one point, only really included smart watches, but now there are devices like Lumia 2 smart earrings, the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic , and Samsung’s Galaxy Ring . Announced on November 18, the Lumia 2 earrings were designed to track blood flow and deliver insights into how your blood flow can impact several different areas of your day-to-day lifestyle.
You might not think about blood flow much, but it can be a bigger factor than you realize in how you feel. For instance, if you’re sitting down for long periods of time at work every day, and you don’t get the proper blood flow, this can lead to long-term health problems. Lumia 2 aims to give you information on your blood flow so you can make adjustments where they’re necessary, with the ultimate goal being a healthier you.

Lumia 2 smart earrings are designed to help you feel your best and think more clearly
Whether you were aware of how important proper blood flow can be or not, that doesn’t change the fact that a lack of proper blood flow can have some negative effects. Lumia, the company behind Lumia 2, wants to ensure that this is less of a problem for more people. Improper blood flow can have a vast impact on how well you live. Eating a carb-heavy lunch or sitting a certain way can impact how you feel the rest of the day. You might feel sluggish or overly fatigued. But you wouldn’t necessarily know that blood flow could be the problem unless you had something to tell you. That’s where Lumia 2 comes in. It was initially designed for people with chronic blood flow disorders.
However, the company’s CEO and co-founder, Daniel Lee, confirms that even people on the Lumia team without blood flow disorders have found that Lumia 2 has positively impacted their lifestyle. “While we’ve been building for people with chronic blood flow disorders, our team members without blood flow disorders have discovered fascinating blood flow patterns that have changed how we live for the better.” One such improvement is how proper blood flow can improve your cognitive performance. That could take form in a number of ways, from improving your focus at work to being more present in areas outside of work.
Lumia 2 doesn’t just track blood flow, it also tracks sleep, temperature, and more
Blood flow is the main metric that Lumia was designed to track, but it’s not a one-note device that tries to tackle a single niche metric. It also tracks sleep, temperature, menstrual cycle, and even your body’s readiness. All in a form factor that Lee says is consumer-first and makes it the world’s smallest wearable.
According to Lee, it weighs less than 1 gram, and it’s five times smaller than AirPods . Lumia 2 comes in three different wearable options. You can wear them as a set of huggie hoops, cuffs, or studs. If you don’t have pierced ears, not to worry, as the cuffs option doesn’t require pierced ears to be worn. Lumia 2 also comes in three different finishes, which are silver, gold, and clear.
The earrings also feature a battery life of 5-8 days, powered by a swappable battery pack system that is aimed at allowing you to wear Lumia 2 for 24 hours a day and seven days a week. In other words, you can charge a battery pack while a fully charged one is being worn with the earrings, then swap as needed. Lumia 2 starts at a base price of $249.99, and will be available in the US and Canada initially. Lumia says more countries will follow in the future.
