At CES 2026, I was able to check out a few products that were not on the show floor, one of those being the L’Atitude 52°N , which is currently available on Kickstarter. And, to be honest, Meta should be worried by this startup.
The L’Atitude 52°N are basically the Meta RayBan glasses , but much better – especially on the camera side. The camera and software are headed up by former OnePlus engineers, so you know they know a bit about making great software and great cameras.
Before we jump into the design of these glasses, let’s take a look at some camera samples. Now, I wasn’t able to compare these myself, but the L’Atitude 52°N team did show me a few comparisons and shared those photos with me. The first thing you’ll notice here is that the L’Atitude glasses are more of a widescreen format for the camera, versus being more vertical like what Meta uses. The second thing you’ll notice is the far more details that L’Atitude has here.
The differences here are very noticeable at night. Where Meta’s glasses are typically a bit blurry (from my experience) and can also blow out some lights that might be in the photos, L’Atitude does a good job of preserving the details here, particularly at night. Take a look for yourself.

The amazing thing here is that the camera is actually smaller than what Meta uses in its smart glasses. I had a chance to put them side-by-side with my Meta RayBan Gen 2, and the difference in camera size is quite noticeable.
And here’s a video taken with the L’Atitude 52°N glasses.
The style and software
Of course, one of the major hurdles with smart glasses is the style. People want something that looks good, instead of just a basic design. Which is why I’ve always said that Meta was smart to partner with RayBan and use some of their most popular styles of all-time, and now with Oakley. In fact, Google has also taken notice and is working with Gentle Monster for its Gemini glasses. Now, L’Atitude is not taking that approach, but they do have three styles that look really good.
So there’s the Berlin, which is what I was able to take photos of here in Las Vegas. These look really nice and come in both a white (Dune) and black (Obsidian) colorway. The Dune color is actually more of a matte color; it really reminds me of the color of the OnePlus 15 , actually – even the name is the same. While the black or Obsidian is more glossy.
L’Atitude has two other designs too, the Milan, which looks similar to the RayBan Skyler, and Antwerp, which looks similar to the RayBan Wayfarer. They are not identical, but have a sort of the same design language.

Now when it comes to software, it has all of the features you’d expect. Of course, these do not have a display, but they do have speakers. So you can listen to music and podcasts, use them for translation with AI (which uses Google Gemini), and so much more. These are basically what the Meta RayBan should have been.
These are on Kickstarter , however they are sold out. L’Atitude did hit its goal and exceeded it by quite a bit. They were initially looking for funding of around €10,000, but were able to hit over €345,000. Showing how successful they might be. These are shipping out to backers now (actually that started last month). So hopefully we should see these available on their website very soon.
