Motorola announced its Moto G Power 2026 last week. It positioned the smartphone as an affordable option aimed at durability and long battery life. The phone comes with a price tag of $300 and brings an IP69 rating, MIL-STD-810H toughness, a large LCD, and much more. However, a recent teardown video of the Moto G Power 2026 has revealed some important facts about its repairability.
Moto G Power 2026 performs just average in the repairability test
When it comes to hardware, the Moto G Power 2026 brings a decent combination of power and durability. It features a 6.8-inch IPS LCD panel, MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a 5200mAh battery, and 30W wired and 15W wireless charging support. For cameras, it brings a dual rear camera setup with a 50M primary wide lens and an 8MP secondary ultrawide lens.
The company markets the device as “very durable.” A recent teardown video from PBKreviews shows that accessing the internals starts by removing the rear cover. However, the process after that is quite confusing. The battery unit is strongly glued with no pull tabs or easy-release system. While this might help with its durability, it brings a compromise in terms of repairability.

The teardown video also reveals that several ribbon cables run beneath the battery. This is risky as it increases the chance of collateral damage during routine repairs. This particular approach collides with the idea of budget devices having a service-friendly design. Also, the repairability challenge doesn’t end with the battery unit; instead, it goes further.
The display cable also passes underneath the battery. This means accessing the power button or volume rocker requires removing the screen entirely. For common issues like worn buttons, the process becomes unnecessarily complex and discouraging. PBKreviews ultimately awarded the Moto G Power 2026 a repairability score of 5 out of 10. They cited a stubborn battery as the main drawback of the device’s repairability.
