Motorola is currently working on the Edge 70 ( Moto X70 Air in China) as one of its upcoming key phone launches. The company is reportedly pushing design limits, featuring an incredibly sleek, sub-6mm thickness. A recent leak revealed some renders of the device , showing how it looks from multiple angles. Now, a leaked promo video confirms even more design details of the upcoming Motorola Edge 70.
With the Motorola Edge 70, the brand aims to join the “super-slim” phone trend that companies like Samsung and Apple are trying to establish. However, the public’s response to these devices has been rather lukewarm . Neither the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge nor the iPhone Air has been particularly appealing to fans of either company. Will Motorola be able to reverse this trend? It’s still early to say. But the firm’s approach is a little different: Motorola is targeting the mid-range market.
Motorola Edge 70 will have ultra-slim design and mid-range price
The leak, sourced from reputable tech tipster @evleaks, confirms that the Edge 70 is inching closer to an official announcement. The device could hit the global market in 2025.
Motorola is betting on a “design-first” approach for the Edge 70. Competing handsets aiming for sub-6mm bodies are typically costly flagships. The Edge 70, however, could maintain the accessible pricing of its predecessor, the Motorola Edge 60.

This means consumers could get a handset with a premium, flagship-level feel for a decidedly mid-range price point. We are talking about a potential price of around $500. This strategy gives the Edge 70 a differentiating touch compared to recent ultra-thin flagships. The handset aims to be a compelling, affordable option for users who prioritize style and portability.
The leaked video confirms a few other aesthetic details for the Motorola Edge 70. You’ll find a 50MP primary rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). The device will also arrive in several eye-catching colorways, including the rumored Pantone Lily Pad, Gadget Gray, and Bronze Green.
A super slim phone with a big battery?
The biggest engineering challenge for any ultra-thin phone is battery life. Thinner bodies historically mean smaller batteries. However, Motorola has recently shown a knack for maximizing power within limited space. For example, the Moto G86 Power managed to pack a massive 6,720mAh cell into a relatively slim frame.
If Motorola can squeeze a respectable battery capacity (say, 5,000mAh) into the sub-6mm Edge 70, it will gain a significant competitive advantage over other thin phones that often compromise runtime for looks.
Of course, other key tech specs will also determine the success or failure of the device. However, for now, there are no details about the phone’s chip. For reference, its predecessor, the Motorola Edge 60, is powered by MediaTek hardware (Dimensity 7300 for global markets, Dimensity 7400 for India). Let’s hope more information emerges on this soon.
