Google continues its major bet in AI , this time targeting the image generation segment. The company has announced Nano Banana Pro, the Gemini 3 Pro native image model. Building on the foundation of the robust Nano Banana , this release aims for even higher-fidelity image generation and editing.
This model’s most notable feature is its foundation in the Gemini 3 Pro platform. This translates into superior reasoning capabilities. This isn’t just about rendering visually appealing scenes. It’s about creating accurate, context-rich visuals. The model can use Google Search to reference real-time data and facts to construct practical images. The pics can range from detailed, context-aware infographics for educational content to visualizations of current information.
Google’s Nano Banana Pro offers studio-quality AI image generation
For advanced projects, the model introduces granular control and consistency features. Users have the ability to adjust critical photographic parameters like scene lighting, camera focus, and color grading. It also supports high-resolution outputs, offering 2K and 4K options for professional production standards.
Nano Banana Pro also adds a major challenge in generative AI: producing clear, accurate, and readable text within an image. According to Google, the model can integrate text cleanly into your images. This finally makes it a viable option for creating functional assets like mockups, posters, and marketing materials.

Furthermore, the model allows for complex compositions. It can blend up to 14 standard input assets while maintaining the consistent appearance of up to five people.

Beyond generation, the model also addresses global usability and accountability. It features advanced localization logic that understands the semantic context of an image. This upgrade enables users to change the language of embedded text elements—such as signs or menus—without altering the original artistic style or layout.
Improved image editing
Nano Banana Pro also features upgrades to its popular existing picture editing capabilities. The results will be more organic and realistic, as you can see below.

Google is already integrating Nano Banana Pro across various developer ecosystems. For instance, coding agents on Google’s new agentic development platform, Google Antigravity, can now use the model to generate detailed UI mockups. Leading creative platforms, including Adobe and Figma, are also integrating this new capability.
Lastly, to ensure clear provenance, every image created or edited with Nano Banana Pro will have a SynthID digital watermark. This will mark its origin as AI-generated or edited media.
