Google is debuting a new color for the Pixel Buds Pro 2 to match the new Pixel 10 Pro models. It’ll now be available in Moonstone.
Unfortunately, Google is still sticking with the same white case for the Pixel Buds Pro 2 , instead of offering fun colors for the case as well. The new Moonstone Pixel Buds Pro 2 do look pretty incredible, though the Hazel color from last year is still one of my favorites.
That’s not all that Google is announcing for the Pixel Buds Pro 2. A number of features will be coming in September with a new Feature Drop . This includes Adaptive Audio, which will decrease sounds and drown out distractions in loud environments for comfortable listening. It’s also bringing a new feature called Loud Noise Protection, which will dampen sudden loud noises to safeguard your listening. It’ll also bring Gemini to your earbuds.
Otherwise, these are the same earbuds that Google debuted last year with the Pixel 9 series. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Google doesn’t typically release new versions of its earbuds every year – it’s more like every 3-4 years.
Available for pre-order today
The new colorway for the Pixel Buds Pro 2 will be available starting today, and they will ship out next week on August 28. Pricing will remain the same at $229, though if you’re looking to get some of the older colors, those will likely be discounted.
With this addition, the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 are now available in five colors: Porcelain, Hazel, Wintergreen, Peony, and now Moonstone.
Google has also announced the Pixel Buds 2a, which are a cheaper version of its Pixel Buds, and those also come in a few different colors. Pixel Buds 2a will be available in Hazel and Iris colors – two colors that none of the Pixel 10 models are available in – starting at $129.99. Pre-orders for Pixel Buds 2a also start today, but they won’t ship out until October, unfortunately.
