The OnePlus 13 is now getting a new update that includes the August 2025 Android security patch, following the Plus Mind update . That’s not all, though, not even close. This update also delivers some optimization and even new capabilities to the phone.

New OnePlus 13 update brings the August 2025 security patch

The update is marked as OxygenOS 15.0.0.850, and the rollout started in India. It is now spreading to other markets, however, so you can expect it to arrive to your phone soon.

This update improves the animations for opening, repositioning, and resizing a floating window. On top of that, it allows you to share images and videos in Private Safe. Speaking of which, you can now also customize image and video album covers in Private Safe, and also sort and view images and videos by time in Private Safe. The last Private Safe change allows you to add files directly under the ‘Other files’ category.

Split View is no longer restricted to fixed ratios

Once you install this update, the Split View will no longer be restricted to fixed ratios on the OnePlus 13 . You can now adjust the ratio as needed. When two apps are displayed in landscape, you can drag the divider to adjust their relative sizes.

When recent tasks are stacked, you can modify an app’s lock status by swiping down on the app on the recent tasks screen. All notifications received in landscape mode are now displayed in a simplified banner format. OnePlus did that to reduce interruptions.

Simplified banner notifications have been upgraded

You can now also swipe down on a simplified banner notification to display the app in a floating window. Tapping a button on a simplified banner notification now opens the app in a floating window, instead of full screen. This update also allows you to adjust the position of banner notifications in landscape mode.

OnePlus is also making it possible to send text, image, and voice messages to nearby people via BeaconLink when there is no internet connection.

This update is rolling out in stages, so keep that in mind. Many of you will need to be patient, as it may take a while before the update lands on your phone.
