Next month in Barcelona, Nothing is set to unveil the Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro at Mobile World Congress . And now we have a number of specs for these two devices, and they look pretty decent.
Both are likely to use the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor with UFS 3.1 storage. It’ll also use around a 5100 to 5200mAh capacity battery with 50W wired charging. It’ll be a 120Hz flat OLED display and sport mostly the same camera setup as the Phone 3a series. And finally, it’ll use IP65 for water and dust resistance.
This information comes from a Twitter post from @Gadgetsdata . While the specs are still a little vague, it does paint a pretty good picture of what to expect from Nothing in Barcelona.
The post also references that the prices will be going up. Which Nothing’s co-founder Carl Pei had already confirmed in recent videos. A big reason for the prices going up is because of the cost of almost every component rising, and specifically RAM and NAND prices going through the roof – thanks to AI.
The Nothing Phone 4a series will also get a redesign, though it’s unclear how much of a redesign we will see with these phones. Sometimes companies will claim that they redesigned a phone, when in reality they made a couple of very subtle changes that most people won’t notice.
Another MWC launch for Nothing
MWC seems to be the place for Nothing to launch its phones over the past few years, and it makes loads of sense. Especially for a smaller company that likely can’t garner the attention of a huge group of media like Samsung , Apple , and even Motorola can. Last year, Nothing unveiled the Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro at MWC, and that is going to be the case again this year.
Currently, the rumor is that the Phone 4a series will be announced on March 5th , which is actually towards the end of MWC. In fact, it is the last day of MWC. So it is likely that Nothing will be showing off the devices at Qualcomm’s booth, like they did last year. Keep in mind that these are powered by Qualcomm chips.
