NVIDIA has officially pushed out the latest update to DLSS, bringing it forward to version 4.5 and bringing several key improvements along with it. Features included in this update were technically available prior to today. However, they were part of the beta, and now they’re available to all NVIDIA app users. You will need an NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics card to take advantage of these changes, so that’s worth keeping in mind. Users will also need to make sure that the NVIDIA app on their PC is updated to see these available options. If users don’t have the NVIDIA app installed, they can grab it from the official website .

One of the big changes that’s part of the DLSS 4.5 update is the addition of NVIDIA’s 6x multi-frame generation. This feature won’t actually be active until Spring 2026. However, this update lays out the framework for it. So, that’s something users will be able to look forward to. Many gamers aren’t exactly incredibly enthusiastic about NVIDIA’s use of AI to generate fake frames, but the tech works quite well, and it’s surprisingly not as noticeable unless you’re really looking for it. One of the main benefits of it is the ability to increase graphics settings while still being able to maintain higher frame rates. As of right now, though, only 4x multi-frame generation is possible. Like 4x multi-frame generation, 6x will require an RTX 50-series card when it becomes available in the next few months.

The NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 update includes the second-generation Super Resolution transformer model

The main change available with today’s update is the second-generation Super Resolution transformer model . NVIDIA says this was trained on “a significantly expanded, high-fidelity dataset.” What this does for the user is essentially improve the image quality in games. With the latest version of the app, NVIDIA is also bringing over the remaining NVIDIA Surround settings from the NVIDIA Control Panel to the NVIDIA App. NVIDIA Control Panel used to be what you would use to do things like update your drivers, manage the graphics settings across your games , and generally everything the NVIDIA App now handles.

NVIDIA has slowly but surely been transferring all of those features to the NVIDIA App so it can merge everything into one tool. It also launched a new app for its GeForce NOW service, which it rolled out last week .
