Following the release of Samsung’s One UI 8.0 update, the company has steadily introduced more updates, which include new features, bug fixes, general improvements, and whatnot. However, One UI 8.5 is expected to be a major update , and now a changelog for the Beta 4 has been leaked, giving us an idea of what else to expect .

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 Beta 4 changelog leaked

According to a post on X by tipster Tarun Vats , he shared the changelog of One UI 8.5 beta. So far, it appears to be a fix for bugs spotted in the previous beta. This includes an issue when clicking search history in the phone app. It also resolves a problem where calls switch to the device under specific conditions while using a Bluetooth headset. The beta also addresses a problem when pasting phone numbers into the keypad. Lastly, the upcoming update will fix an issue where AI Select doesn’t automatically close after “Copy” is selected.

He later followed up in another post on X, saying that the new ZZAD test build is bringing back an updated kernel. It also adds support for Direct Voicemail. He notes that both of these were missing in the previous ZZAB build.

And perhaps the biggest change, one that most Samsung users can look forward to, is an updated Bixby.

Bixby is getting AI smarts

For those unfamiliar, Bixby is Samsung’s digital assistant. It was the company’s answer to other digital assistants like Google Assistant and Siri. However, this upcoming change is one worth getting excited over . This is because in a post on Reddit a couple of weeks ago , the One UI 8.5 update was expected to see Samsung give Bixby AI capabilities.

Samsung has been pushing AI onto its devices ever since the introduction of Galaxy AI. However, Bixby has largely been left out of the conversation. According to the Reddit post, One UI 8.5 will see Bixby integrated with AI from the likes of Perplexity and DeepSeek. This is pretty exciting and could challenge Google’s Gemini.

There’s still no word on when One UI 8.5 is expected to be released to the public. Maybe Samsung will share more details at the Galaxy S26 launch event rumored to take place next month.
