The OnePlus 16 is said to be an “all-around flagship” , just like the OnePlus 13 was. This could be a result of the reactions the company received for its OnePlus 15 flagship. It’s not a bad phone at all, but it seems like users feel that the focus is in the wrong places.

The OnePlus 15 is a gaming-centric phone in a lot of ways. That’s not a problem, quite the contrary, but the camera specs can be seen as a downgrade by some, compared to the OnePlus 13 .

With the OnePlus 16, OnePlus wants to bring an even more balanced flagship

Users have seemingly expected different camera specs from the phone, and for it to be more of a balanced flagship all around. That’s what OnePlus will aim to achieve with the OnePlus 16 later this year.

The information comes from the OnePlus Club. Don’t get us wrong, the OnePlus 15 still shoots great photos, excellent even. There’s no significant difference between that phone and the OnePlus 13. Users did expect more, though, it seems.

You may also recall that the OnePlus 16 Pro / Ultra names were mentioned not long ago. The source claims that it’s unclear whether either of those will see the light of day. OnePlus could seemingly launch more than one flagship, though that still seems very unlikely.

The company has been releasing a single flagship for years. There’s a low chance that will change with the OnePlus 16, but there’s always a possibility. We’re still a long way from its arrival, so… who knows.

The OnePlus 16 will not be backed by Hasselblad, as is the case with the OnePlus 15

It is worth noting that the OnePlus 16 won’t offer Hasselblad as part of the package, as OnePlus is no longer in partnership with Hasselblad, unlike OPPO . That was the case with the OnePlus 15 as well.

The OnePlus 16 is expected to arrive in the fourth quarter of this year. The OnePlus 15 arrived in October, in China, while its global counterpart landed in November.
