A new OnePlus 16 rumor has just appeared online, and this one comes from the OnePlus Club as well. Yesterday, the source shared a 9,000mAh battery rumor , and now more details have been added . Some of these details have been shared previously, but not all.
The OnePlus 16 upgrades surfaced, including a massive battery, boosted display & others
According to the source, in addition to a 9,000mAh battery (or something close to it), the OnePlus 16 will also come with an upgraded display. It will allegedly offer a 240Hz refresh rate, though that refresh rate will be reserved for gaming.
Furthremore, a camera improvement is also tipped, as a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera is expected. We may see more camera improvements, but for the time being, a new periscope telephoto camera is mentioned.
OnePlus Club also says that the phone will feature upgraded speakers. Coaxial speakers are mentioned here. The last upgrade noted by the source is a haptics upgrade, as a new motor will be used. This is nice to see, as the OnePlus 15 arrived with weaker haptics than the OnePlus 13 .
An image was also shared, but this is almost certainly just a concept
So, for the time being, display, camera, battery, speaker, and haptic upgrades are rumored for the device. The source also shared an image along with this rumor, which you can check out below, but we doubt this is the OnePlus 16. It could be a concept based on the OnePlus 15, or something like that.
It’s also worth noting that the same source recently said that the OnePlus 16 may not get a global variant at all . That was a wild rumor that hinted that the phone could stay exclusive to China.
OnePlus’ sales haven’t exactly been booming, and its presence in global markets is not that big. So this move, while being drastic, could be on the table. We sure hope it’s not, as OnePlus is making great phones and we’d love to see them continue their global journey. It remains to be seen.
The OnePlus 16 is not expected to arrive until Q4 this year. The OnePlus 15 launched in October last year.
