OnePlus has officially confirmed the OxygenOS 16 launch date . The company will officially announce its Android 16 -based skin, OxygenOS 16, on October 16. Yes, this is a global launch, for obvious reasons.
OnePlus ships ColorOS on its phones in China, while OxygenOS is reserved for all other markets, basically. This announcement also comes via OnePlus’ global social media channels.
OnePlus’ Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 update is coming on October 16
The company announced as much via the official, main OnePlus handle on X. Along with the launch date, the company also included the ‘Intelligently Yours’ tagline and mentioned OnePlus AI as well.

This version of OxygenOS will come pre-installed on the upcoming OnePlus 15 flagship smartphone. That is also the first smartphone with that version of Android that will reach the market.
The OnePlus 15, as a reminder, is expected to launch in China by the end of this month. Its global debut is tipped for November 13, though the company didn’t officially confirm that just yet.
Gemini will supercharge OnePlus’ Mind Space
OnePlus already confirmed, recently, that Gemini will supercharge the OnePlus Mind Space . It will get baked into Mind Space with OxygenOS 16, thus making OnePlus’ AI more useful than ever before. Google Gemini will be able to leverage content from Mind Space in order to perform complex tasks.
A standard set of Android 16 upgrades will be included under the hood, while OnePlus will add plenty of its own on top of that. Most of it is a secret at this point, the only piece of information that we have regards to Gemini.
We’re expecting to see OxygenOS 16 on other OnePlus smartphones soon after the OnePlus 15 ’s launch. The OnePlus 13 and OnePlus Open will likely be first in line to get the update. We’re only guessing at this point, though, of course.
