At the end of the OnePlus 15 ’s global launch, the company said that those of you who are wondering about the OnePlus 15R should “stay tuned.” That is, unfortunately, all the information that OnePlus shared.

The OnePlus 13R did launch a bit later than the OnePlus 13 as well, so this is not exactly surprising. If that launch is any indication, the OnePlus 15R is right around the corner. The OnePlus 15 ’s global announcement happened a lot earlier than expected, in November instead of January.

It will be based on either the OnePlus Ace 6 or Ace 6T

The OnePlus 15R will be based on either the OnePlus Ace 6 or Ace 6T, if we had to guess. Those phone are aimed at the Chinese.market. The former is already available in China with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, while the latter is expected to come soon with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.

In all honesty, if we had to guess, we’d say OnePlus will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, but we’ll see. The OnePlus Ace 6T is expected to feature a 1.5K 165Hz OLED display, along with an 8,000mAh battery.

The phone will support 100W charging and a 50-megapixel main camera. A secondary 8-megapixel camera will sit on the back, while a 32-megapixel shooter will be located on the front.

Android 16 will come pre-installed, with OxygenOS 16 on top

Android 16-based ColorOS 16 UI will be included, as will an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone will also feature stereo speakers.

The OnePlus Ace 6, on the other hand, comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite and an 6.83-inch OLED display. It offers a 120Hz refresh rate, a 7,800mAh battery, and 120W wired charging. The rest of the specs are very similar to what the OnePlus Ace 6T is expected to arrive with.

With the right price tag, the OnePlus 15R could be a really compelling phone, regardless of which of these two phones it ends up mimicking.
