According to a new report, OPPO plans to compete with Apple and Samsung by releasing a wider foldable . The phone will allegedly be called the OPPO Find N7 , as the information has been shared by SmartPrix.
Before we get to it, let’s just note that the design of Apple’s first foldable phone surfaced, and it will be shorter and wider than your regular book-style foldables. That way, you’ll get something close to a 4:3 display aspect ratio when the device is unfolded. Traditional book-style foldables have squarish displays.
Following that design leak, a report surfaced that Samsung will release two book-style foldables this year, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 , and a book-style foldable with a wider display to compete with Apple.
The OPPO Find N7 will allegedly aim to compete directly with Apple’s first foldable
Now, the same thing is being said for OPPO. The OPPO Find N6 is expected to land in the near future with a similar form factor to the OPPO Find N5. The OPPO Find N7 is allegedly coming later this year with a wider display.
The OPPO Find N7 is tipped to launch in September, just like the iPhone Fold, or whatever name Apple ends up going with. The iPhone Fold is rumored to become available in 2027, though.
The OPPO Find N7 is rumored to keep a similar spec sheet to the Find N6, but have a different form factor. It’ll likely mimic the 4:3 display aspect ratio when the phone is unfolded. OPPO is not a stranger to shorter and wider foldables, we all remember the OPPO Find N and Find N2. The upcoming phone will offer a bit larger displays, though.
The OPPO Find N6 is expected to get a better camera setup, and Qualcomm’s best chip
As a reminder, the OPPO Find N6 is expected to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, along with 16GB of RAM. An 8.12-inch LTPO OLED main display is also expected, and a 6.62-inch cover panel. Both of those will offer a 120Hz refresh rate.
A 200-megapixel main camera is also rumored, along with 50-megapixel ultrawide and periscope telephoto units. A 6,000mAh battery will seemingly be included on the inside, while 80W wired and 50W wireless charging will also be supported.
