Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Design
Both of these are large-format book-style foldable smartphones. The form factor is basically the same. However, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is quite a bit heavier, and it’s also thicker both in folded and unfolded formats. You can feel the added weight and thickness easily. We definitely prefer the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in this regard. If you prefer the added thickness, however, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold sure has it.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has sharper corners, while both phones have a display camera hole on their main display and their cover displays. The bezels around all four displays here are uniform. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has thinner bezels and a higher screen-to-body ratio, which goes for both of its displays. The power/lock and volume up and down buttons sit on the right-hand side of both phones. Their positioning is different, however. On the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, the power/lock key sits above the volume up and down buttons, while it’s the other way around on Samsung’s foldable.
If we flip them around, you’ll notice that both phones have flat backplates. Their camera islands are vastly different, however. Many would agree that the one on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is more pleasing to the eye. That phone has three vertically-aligned cameras, which sit on top of a camera island in the top-left corner. They blend well with the backplate. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold has a squarish camera island in the top-left corner, with two separate horizontal pill-shaped cutouts.
Frames on both phones are made out of aluminum, while glass is used for their backplates. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold has the advantage of an IP68 certification. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is IP48 certified for water and dust resistance.
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Display
The main display on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold measures 8 inches. It’s a Foldable LTPO OLED display with an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). HDR10+ content is supported, and the peak brightness here is 3,000 nits. The resolution this display offers is 2152 x 2076, while the screen-to-body ratio is around 88%. The display aspect ratio is near 1:1. The cover display measures 6.4 inches, and it’s an OLED panel. That display has a 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR content is supported. The Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the panel, while the resolution is 2364 x 1080 pixels. The peak brightness here is also 3,000 nits.
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, on the other hand, has a Foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X main panel which measures 8 inches. It has an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz) and supports HDR10+ content. The peak brightness here is 2,600 nits. The screen-to-body ratio is 90%, while the resolution is 2184 x 1968 pixels. The cover display measures 6.5 inches, and it is a Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display. Its refresh rate goes from 1 to 120Hz, while the Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protects it.
All four of these displays are very good, actually. They’re all vivid, have great viewing angles, and are also more than sharp enough. You won’t lack brightness either, and the touch response is solid as well. The creases on the main panels are not exactly noticeable when you’re looking at the displays straight on. Unlike some competitors from China, both displays are lacking in the screen dimming department, but not many people will be affected by that.
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Performance
The Google Tensor G5 processor fuels the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. That is Google’s flagship processor, and the very first Tensor chip made by TSMC. It is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS storage. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold does not support microSD card storage expansion, by the way.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, on the flip side, is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. That is Qualcomm’s flagship chip for last year, and it’s also a 3nm processor. It’s more powerful than the Tensor G5. That chip is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM (12GB in some markets), and UFS 4.0 flash storage. This phone doesn’t support storage expansion either.
You’ll be glad to hear that both of these smartphones do a great job in the performance department. They deliver in day-to-day use, as they keep the performance really smooth regardless of what you’re doing. They can open apps really fast, do great when it comes to multitasking, and so on. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 tends to be a bit faster when it comes to app launch times, but the difference is negligible. Samsung’s phone also offers more oomph for graphically-intensive games, though neither of these phones is a gaming phone per se. Both can run basically anything you throw at them, however.
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Battery
There is a 5,015mAh battery included in the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, on the other hand, includes a 4,400mAh battery. While both of these phones offer decent battery life, the competitors from China offer far more in that regard. If you’re not a power user, you’ll be able to get to the end of the day on a single charge. If you are, however, chances are that it won’t happen. It all depends on your usage and how much you’re using the main panel.
They are very similar in terms of battery life. During our testing, sometimes the Pixel 10 Pro Fold offered more, while sometimes the Galaxy Z Fold 7 had the edge. We didn’t manage to get to truly high screen-on time on either smartphone, however. Gaming does take a huge toll on both phones in terms of battery life, especially if you’re using the main display, and almost everyone will.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold supports 30W wired, 15W wireless, and Bypass charging. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, on the other hand, supports 25W wired, 15W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. It will take around an hour and a half to charge both of these smartphones, actually, if you get a compatible charger. They do not ship with a charger in their retail boxes, unfortunately.
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Cameras
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold has three cameras on the back. It includes a 48-megapixel main camera (1/2.0-inch sensor size), along with a 10.5-megapixel ultrawide snapper (1/3.4-inch sensor size, 127-degree FoV). The third camera on the back of the phone is a 10.8-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (1/3.2-inch sensor size).

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, on the flip side, has three cameras on its back also. It has a 200-megapixel main camera (1/1.3-inch sensor size), along with a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera (1/2.55-inch sensor size, 120-degree FoV). The third camera on the back is a 10-megapixel telephoto unit (1/3.94-inch sensor size).
Do note that both of these phones do a good job in terms of photos, but neither provides color-accurate images, exactly. Images from both phones do look processed, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it’s worth noting. The images from the Pixel 10 Pro Fold do end up looking more contrasty, while the Galaxy Z Fold 7 prefers warmer tones. The camera hardware is not exactly great on either phone, but they do a good job, and they trade blows in terms of who provides better photos. We’d definitely go with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold for low-light images, though.
Audio
There are stereo speakers included on both of these smartphones. The loudness is good on both smartphones, though the Pixel 10 Pro Fold speakers do tend to be slightly louder, at least to our ears. The audio output quality is good on both.
There is no audio jack on either phone, but you can utilize their Type-C ports for the same purpose. Bluetooth 6.0 is on offer with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, while the Galaxy Z Fold 7 offers Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless audio connectivity.
